Tagging is an open and informal method of categorizing that allows users to associate keywords with online content (web pages, pictures & posts). Tagging is completely unstructured and free form, allowing users to create connections between data anyway they want.
Does tagging belong in the library? I think we should have tagging in the library. Does it replace or complement subject headings? I think it complements subject headings. Should we encourage or discourage the practice? I think we should discuss it in further detail because tagging is unstructured and free form there may be risks to tagging things.
